Farid Al Awlaqi
Chief Executive Officer, Generation
Farid Al Awlaqi is the Chief Executive Officer of TAQA’s Generation business. In this role, he oversees and develops the company’s global power and water generation portfolio, operating companies and investments.
Mr Al Awlaqi sits on the board of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), as well as a Board Subcommittee Member of Masdar’s Sustainability, Strategy and Investment Committee (SSIC), Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARC) , and Chairs the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC).In addition, he is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TAQA Morocco and a member of the Board of Sohar Aluminium.
Prior to his role with TAQA, he served as Senior Vice President in the energy platform at Mubadala Investment. He has held various roles during his career, from operations to business development, investment and asset management.
He holds a Sloan Master’s from the London Business School and a Master’s of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from the Imperial College of the University of London. He is also a prize winner from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
