Masdar is supporting its partner PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PJB) by sponsoring PJB Connect 2020, the virtual electricity exhibition and conference running from October 21 to October 28.

Coinciding with PJB’s 25th anniversary, the event is both showcasing the power sector’s latest research and technology and hosting presentations from international experts under the theme ‘Spark your silver horizon’. Masdar is one of dozens of global energy leaders exhibiting virtually at the event.

Earlier this year, Masdar signed a power purchase agreement with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the state utility company and owner of PJB, to develop Southeast Asia’s largest floating solar power plant. Due for completion in 2022, the 145-megawatt (MW) project is being built on a 225-hectare site on the Cirata Reservoir in West Java, about two hours’ drive east of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

The pioneering project marks Masdar’s entry into Southeast Asia and builds on the UAE’s strong relationship with Indonesia.
