Masdar is Public Sector Employer of Choice for UAE Students
- Also most attractive employer for IT and engineering UAE national students at 2015 Universum Middle East Awards
Masdar is proud to be the recipient of two prestigious awards as part of the ‘Universum Talent Survey 2015 Middle East’ – the most attractive public sector employer and also the most attractive employer for IT and engineering UAE national students. The awards were announced during the ‘Universum Awards 2015’ ceremony last week at the Hult International Business School in Dubai Internet City.
“Masdar is people – people with ideas big and small, working in a place that can take both big and small ideas and turn them into reality. Every person here contributes something unique and important. Everyone who works at Masdar dreams big and challenges themselves to constantly push the boundaries and we are incredibly proud of what we are doing. By helping to secure sustainable and clean energy sources, everyone at Masdar is both directly and indirectly helping to preserve our natural resources, to ensure we have access to clean water, and to protect our environment for generations to come. It’s what keeps us coming here every day,” said Dr Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar.
Receiving the awards was Masdar Director of Emiratisation and Human Capital, Maha Al Mansouri, who said: “'As we recently celebrated the 44th National Day of the UAE, and as we remember the brave people who have given their lives for the country, Masdar was honoured to be the recipient of the 2015 Most Attractive Employer Award in the UAE for Public Sector and Government Agencies. This is the second time we have won this prestigious award, winning it in 2014 as well. We are growing in an innovation-driven economy and I am thrilled to know that Masdar is highly recognised among university students and new graduates. This demonstrates the breadth of our human capital positioning. People are our most important asset and their motivation, growth and wellbeing is our priority. Wining this award gives us the advantage to double our efforts and be innovative in our people programs to continue being at the top.”
Award winners were determined based on the results of Universum’s 2015 online survey that targeted more than 8,000 students from 24 different educational institutions in the UAE including the American University of Sharjah, Zayed University, American University in Dubai, Abu Dhabi University, Hult International Business School, New York University Abu Dhabi and others. The survey was distributed between November 2014 and May 2015 via university contacts, student ambassadors and social media and aimed at determining the attractiveness and brand perception of different employers in the UAE. Students were asked questions to determine their awareness of Masdar and other employers, if they would consider working for Masdar, whether Masdar is their ideal employer, and if they would consider applying for a job at Masdar.
