Masdar CEO highlights importance of partners in GI interview
Partners are key to Masdar’s strategy, Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi said in an interview with Gulf Intelligence. Masdar is active in more than 30 countries, and the company’s objective is to always work with partners, either in the public or private sector, the CEO said.
“As a global leader, we have all the required expertise,” Al Ramahi said in the interview. “But partners are part of our strategy. For me, as CEO, I would like to have a partner that shares the same vision and values to help de-risk my exposure.”
Al Ramahi highlighted in the interview some of the key milestones Masdar has achieved since its launch in 2006, including establishing the first wind farm in Oman, and its ongoing development of the largest wind farm in Saudi Arabia, the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm, the region’s largest wind energy project to date.
In February, Al Ramahi collected the Gulf Intelligence International Energy Diplomacy Person of the Year Award, a coveted award normally reserved for leaders of the oil & gas industry, during the fourth Middle East Energy Summit in London.
