Largest solar park in Jordan achieves remarkable safety milestone
Baynouna Solar Park, Jordan’s largest solar energy project, has celebrated an important safety, health and environment (SH&E) milestone, achieving 1 million safe hours without a lost time incident (LTI).
The achievement reflects the team’s commitment to deliver a world-class project while upholding the highest safety standards and awareness.
Ali Buhaji, General Manager, Baynouna said: “Achieving this milestone is a testament to the project’s professionalism and commitment to safety. Our team regularly takes part in training, hosting toolbox talks and safety walks, which help to reinforce a strong safety culture.”
Due for completion in Q2 2020, the project presently has more than 1,400 full-time employees working on site.
Covering an area of 600 hectares, the solar park comprises 740,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels and will supply an estimated 160,000 homes on completion. Baynouna will also displace 360,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
