Masdar celebrated the achievements and success of all its female employees on International Women’s Day – a global event to mark the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world. Taking place under the theme Each for Equal, this year’s event aims to help forge a gender equal world, celebrating women’s achievements and increasing visibility, while encouraging everyone to call out inequality.

Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi said: “The renewables sector has been a leader in gender equality. International Women’s Day provides the opportunity to acknowledge the progress of our sector and congratulate the UAE’s females for their dedication and commitment towards the growth of our country.”

Masdar is privileged to have a diverse workforce, of which 33 per cent are female, who contribute to the continued success and achievements of the organisation. Female employees also make up the large proportion of participants in Human Capital’s development programmes, which aim to develop leaders across all levels of the business.

The company is also dedicated to helping the UAE advance gender equality as part of its commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals through the empowerment of women in the industry, exemplified by the Masdar-led Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) initiative, which empowers women in sustainability sectors around the world.

Happy International Women’s Day!
