The Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) ‘Return to the Source’ competition, in partnership with Masdar and the 24th World Energy Congress (WEC), is now accepting submissions. The competition invites designers to create an iconic work of art for a landmark site within Masdar City using renewable energy.
This will be the second LAGI competition supported by Masdar following LAGI’s first competition, which awarded its winner at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in 2011.
The competition will close on Sunday, 12 May 2019, and the awards ceremony will take place during the World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi on 9-12 September 2019, where the top 25 shortlisted projects will be exhibited. The winner will receive US$40,000 and second place will be awarded US$10,000. A book featuring 50-60 of the top submissions will be published and released at WFES during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2020.
Masdar will be represented on the panel of jurors by Yousef Baselaib, Executive Director, Sustainable Real Estate, Chris Wan, Head, Design Management, Sustainable Real Estate and Lukas Sokol, Head, City Design, Sustainable Planning, Sustainable Real Estate.
