Masdar City is a pedestrian-friendly community where academics and business professionals live, work, play and learn in an environment that pushes the boundaries of sustainable design, construction and operation.
Masdar City is home to both a major graduate research university and to the region’s only free zone industry cluster focused on sustainability, cleantech and renewable energy.
A visit in Masdar City takes approximately 60-90 minutes.
The walk through the city is low-level difficulty, and special-needs access is available. To make your experience more enjoyable, remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat – and of course bring your camera!
Remember to plan a refreshment break or lunch at one of the cafes and restaurants.
As you walk through Masdar City, you will notice its progressive urban planning and eye-catching architecture that combines traditional design principles with leading-edge technology. Masdar City is open to the general public every day for those who wish to visit and explore at their own leisure.

There is parking available in the North Car Park PRT Station underground car park. Please note that the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system at Masdar City will close for an extended period from Sunday 2 July to accommodate ongoing building work at the Masdar Institute Neighbourhood development – a major new mixed-use project, including offices, residential, retail and public open space, which will link the Masdar City Podium with the North Car Park.
