In place of the Graduate Record Examination, highly qualified graduate applicants must pass two placement exams or complete additional technical and math coursework before they may proceed into the graduate degree programme.
These prerequisites consist of intensive courses, research projects and hands-on activities. Through these activities, these graduate students joining Masdar Institute programmes can meet core degree course requirements and are prepared for two years of advanced studies in their chosen Master of Science programmes.
Prerequisite Course Options
Students who may not meet GRE and Test of English as a Foreign Language/International English Language Testing Service requirements are eligible to take 400-level courses. Various options are available and chosen based on the target programme’s recommendations in consultation with the student, taking into account his or her academic background.
Students who may not have the necessary GRE and TOEFL/IELTS requirements may opt to waive any of the 400-level courses by passing placement exams with a grade of B or higher. For further details, please refer to the Masdar Institute Registrar (email@example.com).
