The Catalyst Accelerating Sustainable Innovation

Relaunched in 2018 to encourage and stimulate entrepreneurship, The Catalyst is the region’s first sustainability-focused ‘start-up accelerator’. Based in the Masdar City Free Zone, The Catalyst is a joint venture between Masdar and BP aimed at accelerating start-ups through funding, training and mentorship.

The Catalyst targets eco-friendly business ideas that are 1-3 years away from commercialization, and accelerates them through a holistic program, which provides entrepreneurs a range of services and support needed to run a business.

To date, eight start-up companies have been incubated at The Catalyst, providing a stable base to grow their business and undertake research and design.
